How do you keep cleaners and sites safe?
Workplace health and safety is our number one priority. In Justin's words: when it comes to health and safety, there are no compromises and no corners cut.
- Every work site is inspected before we start. Each risk and hazard is recorded in writing and given to the staff working there as part of their on-site toolkit.
- Mandatory training at induction, then follow-up training at regular, scheduled intervals.
- Written procedures for every cleaning duty, including the safe handling, storage and disposal of equipment and chemicals, and what to do in an evacuation or lockdown.
- Equipment that is safe, well maintained and clearly labelled, especially cleaning chemicals and enzymes, with current Safety Data Sheets.
- A Safe Work Method Statement for higher-risk work such as floor stripping and sealing, steam cleaning, pressure cleaning and working from ladders.
- Staff are encouraged to call out unsafe behaviour and suggest better ways of working.
